Pain Remains by Lorna Shore

Lorna Shore has really come into its own since losing their last singer because of SA allegations but I honestly believe it has been the best decision they have made since making the band. Mostly because they brought in Will Ramos as lead singer and it shows. They have gone from a regular deathcore band to a blackened symphonic deathcore band since their EP “And I Return to Nothingness” with the release of “To The Hellfire” and spreading like wildfire for its brutal growls and breakdowns. Yet the “Pain Remains” adds to the great EP and expands upon it. By far the highlight of the album to me has to be the last three tracks titled Pain Remains 1, 2, and 3. Mostly because they are truly heartbreakingly beautiful yet brutal at the same time. Also, the music videos expand upon the songs dealing with tough issues like suicide, loss, grief, and loneliness. “Cursed to Die,” I think is the best song they have ever recorded in my eyes. Musically and lyrically. Yet the only complaint I should mention is that a lot of the songs blend together yet don’t sound distinct as separate songs go. But that is very nitpicky on my end. It is truly a great album and I cannot recommend it enough, especially if you are not hugely into deathcore like myself and see great things from this band. Also, honorable mentions go to “Sun//Eater” “Into the Earth” and “Soulless Existence”.
