AEW All Out 2022 Results

All Elite Wrestling held its third pay-per-view of the year on Sunday, September 4, as All Out was broadcast from Chicago, Illinois. 11 matches took place on the main pay-per-view and there were plenty of surprises.

Check out everything that happened below:

Horned Masked Man def. Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli, Dante Martin, Penta El Zero Miedo, Rey Fenix, Rush, & Andrade El Idolo - Casino Ladder Match

All Elite Wrestling opened the main pay-per-view with a huge stipulation contest in the Casino Ladder Match, with the winner earning a shot at the AEW World Championship.

The clash started with Wheeler Yuta and Rey Fenix and they wasted no time using the ladders, with Yuta sending Fenix crashing into a ladder following a Suicide Dive. Next out was Rush before he was joined by his La Faccion Ingobernable stablemate Andrade El Idolo which led to a Powerbomb onto a ladder from Andrade to Wheeler Yuta.

Yuta wasn't alone for very long following Claudio Castagnoli's entrance into the match and he eventually managed to dump Andrade from a ladder to the floor. Next out was Dante Martin and he hit a huge Springboard to the middle of the ladder to cut off Wheeler Yuta from grabbing the casino chip. Penta El Zero Miedo followed, immediately taking out Dante Martin with a Canadian Destroyer on the ramp.

The war between Death Triangle and La Faccion Ingobernable took center stage with Penta hitting Andrade with a Canadian Destroyer on the ladder before Rey Fenix put RUSH through a table with a Frog Splash.

Suddenly, however, masked men rushed to the ring and took out the competition, revealed to be Stokely Hathaway, and his crew and the manager grabbed the casino chip. Sympathy For The Devil then filled the arena and the Joker made their entrance, which was a man with a horned mask. Hathaway handed them the chip, giving the horned man the victory but it was not revealed who he was until later in the evening.

The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks) def. Hangman Page & Dark Order (John Silver & Alex Reynolds) - AEW World Trios Championships

The drama on one side of the action took center stage next as Hangman Page teamed with Dark Order against The Elite to crown the inaugural AEW World Trios Champions.

It didn't take long to become personal as Matt Jackson spit in Alex Reynolds' face in a blatant act of disrespect. Dark Order then targeted Matt Jackson's injured lower back but Hangman stopped them, asking what his tag team partners were doing. This only angered Matt Jackson and he tagged in Kenny Omega, with the former tag team partners coming face-to-face for the first time since Page defeated Omega for the AEW World Championship at Full Gear in November 2021.

A collar-and-elbow tie-up followed until John Silver was tagged in but the former AEW World Champions soon clashed again with Hangman getting the better of the initial exchange before he was chopped down with a Superkick from Nick Jackson. The Elite then worked over Hangman before he made the hot tag to John Silver who Hungeed Up with a Rolling Senton, European Uppercut, and a Big Boot before he was cut down by Nick Jackson. Dark Order then combined for an Assisted Brainbuster to Nick Jackson on the outside before Silver hit the Spin Doctor, only for Kenny Omega to make the save.

More quality back-and-forth action followed and Dark Order was so close to winning with a Jackknife pin from Alex Reynolds on Omega but he managed to kick out. Moments later, John Silver ate a V-Trigger from Omega before he hit his Terminator Senton to all three of his opponents. A miscommunication from The Elite was next, though, and Dark Order and Hangman hit a Pendulum Bomb to Matt Jackson, with Nick Jackson breaking up the pin with a Senton.

Superkicks were everywhere next, leaving Dark Order and The Young Bucks laid out before Kenny Omega and Hangman Page faced off again, dragging their fallen partners to make the tag as the crowd in Chicago went crazy! Omega connected with a V-Trigger and a Tiger Driver 98 to get the better of the exchange but Page kicked out.

Hangman fought back and hit a Buckshot Lariat to the back of Omega's head before he set up for another one on the other side of the ring, calling back to their Full Gear 2021 match. Matt Jackson this time grabbed Hangman's foot and the distraction allowed Omega to get out of the way when Hangman went for his finisher before Nick Jackson decked Page with a Buckshot Lariat of his own. The BTE Trigger followed but Alex Reynolds made the save for Hangman.

Dark Order then fought back some more for another huge near fall but Omega fired back with a V-Trigger before he went for a One-Winged Angel, only for Silver to roll through for a hell of a near fall! Silver then held Omega for a Buckshot Lariat from Hangman but Kenny ducked, causing Page to destroy Silver with his finisher.

Omega then made the cover as The Young Bucks stopped a devastated Hangman from breaking up the pin to become the inaugural AEW World Trios Champions.

Jade Cargill (c) def. Athena - TBS Championship

A match that has been building since Double Or Nothing finally took place in the third match of the pay-per-view as Athena challenged a She Hulk-inspired Jade Cargill for the TBS Championship.

Athena almost had the match won moments into the contest, hitting the O-Face but Cargill kicked out after The Baddies botched dragging the champion out of the ring. For some reason, referee Rick Knox did not eject them from ringside for the interference. Jade briefly fought back with a Spear for a near fall but Athena fired back into the action and they later exchanged finisher counters.

Athena took out The Baddies soon after but this provided the opening for Cargill to connect with Jaded as the TBS Champion moved to 37-0.

Wardlow & FTR def. Jay Lethal & The Motor City Machine Guns

In the next bout, Wardlow and FTR teamed together against Jay Lethal and IMPACT Wrestling's Motor City Machine Guns. The entrances featured a nice moment when FTR were briefly accompanied by Dax Harwood's eight-year-old daughter.

Hailing from Detroit, The Motor City Machine Guns were booed by the Chicago crowd and they soon gained control after Dax Harwood chased after Sonjay Dutt, who was wearing a 'fight like an eight-year-old brat' t-shirt. FTR soon gained a spell of control of their own with Wardlow and The Top Guys working over Alex Shelley.

A Lethal Injection attempt from Jay Lethal and an Enziguri from Chris Sabin to Harwood switched momentum again. Harwood made the hot tag to Cash Wheeler but Dax was chopped down by a brutal Dropkick from Shelley which resulted in the heels targeting Wheeler's leg. After several minutes, Wheeler managed to receive the hot tag and he scored a near fall after running wild and decking Jay Lethal with an F10.

Satnam Singh then got involved while the official was distracted, punching Wardlow but Mr. Mayhem managed to kick out. More offense from the heels followed but Wardlow kicked out again following a Flying Elbow from the former ROH World Champion.

All the finishers followed, with FTR hitting Alex Shelley with Big Rig before Jay Lethal hit a Double Lethal Injection to FTR. Wardlow then fired his way into the ring again and he proceeded to destroy Lethal with Powerbomb Symphony for the clean win.

It appeared the babyfaces wouldn't have long to celebrate as Lethal, MCMG, and Satnam Singh surrounded the ring but Samoa Joe suddenly made his return, decking Satnam Singh. Dax Harwood's eight-year-old daughter then entered the ring, breaking Sonjay Dutt's pencil before Dax took out the former TNA star with a punch. The eight-year-old then pinned Dutt for another 1-2-3 and the babyfaces celebrated with a Samoa Joe who had somehow managed to get busted open.

Powerhouse Hobbs def. Ricky Starks

Former friends collided next at All Out and Ricky Starks, looking like an 'Absolute' star, wasted no time going after Powerhouse Hobbs. The bigger competitor soon gained control, though, and he methodically attacked Starks.

Starks eventually managed to fight back, hitting a massive Tornado DDT but Ricky, who appeared to have a problem with his neck, suddenly ate a huge Spinebuster from Hobbs for the dominant win.

Swerve In Our Glory (c) def. The Acclaimed - AEW World Tag Team Championships

Next up was the AEW World Tag Team Title match and the crowd in Chicago was electric, desperate for some scissoring from Daddy Ass, and the noise remained high as Keith Lee showed off his insane athleticism.

Keith Lee was soon sent flying following a Hurricanrana from Max Caster and Swerve In Our Glory was sent out of the ring following stereo Dropkicks from The Acclaimed before the challengers scissored in the ring. Max Caster then offered to shake Keith Lee's hand, which was quickly rejected by Keith. This allowed the champions to gain the upper hand and Swerve Strickland mocked scissoring while he and Lee worked over Max Caster.

Caster eventually made the hot tag to Anthony Bowens and the scissoring exited the match as it turned into more of a serious affair. Bowens suffered a storyline knee injury later in the contest, and Swerve, smelling blood in the water, went after the problematic limb. Keith Lee later threw Bowens across the ring but Bowens hulked up and fired back with a Blockbuster before he made the hot tag to Max Caster, who scored a near fall on Lee.

Lee then accidentally took out his tag team partner with a pounce and The Acclaimed almost won the match with a Running Knee Strike. Lee soon went back to Bowens' injured knee to regain the upper hand and he went to the top, only for Max Caster to cut him off which ended with The Acclaimed hitting Lee with a Double Superplex. Swerve Strickland tagged himself in, though, and he followed up with the Stomp on Bowens. That looked to be it but Bowens kicked out!

An angry Strickland then applied a Single Leg Boston Crab and stomped on Bowens' head before Caster saved his tag team partner. Soon after, Max Caster hit a Mic Drop on Swerve to the outside. Keith Lee then took out The Acclaimed which resulted in Billy Gunn getting on the apron. Daddy Ass backed down but Caster recovered and hit an Attitude Adjustment on Keith Lee!

Bowens followed up with the Arrival before the Mic Drop from Caster. That looked to be it but Keith Lee broke up the pin at the last possible moment which led to BS chants from the fans in attendance. Swerve soon fought back with a Death Valley Driver on the apron to Caster and the AEW World Tag Team Champions went after Bowens' injured knee again, only for Swerve to deck Lee with a Pele Kick. Bowens rolled up Lee but only for another near fall!

Bowens went for a Poisonrana but Keith Lee caught him and Swerve In Our Glory hit their finisher for the win as the crowd serenaded them with more BS chants.

After the match, Keith Lee scissored Billy Gunn in a show of respect but the crowd did not care.

Toni Storm def. Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter, & Hikaru Shida – Interim AEW Women's World Championship

Following Thunder Rosa's announcement that she would be unable to defend her AEW Women's World Title due to injury, an Interim AEW Women's World Champion was crowned at All Out in a Four-Way pitting Toni Storm, Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter, and Hikaru Shida against each other.

The fans at All Out were behind Jamie Hayter, serenading her with chants, especially as all four women exchanged pin attempts in the early going. Hikaru Shida was later taken out after Jamie Hayter and Britt Baker started working together, with Baker decking Shida with a Stomp on the ramp. This resulted in Shida being taken backstage by AEW's medical team, making the match effectively a Handicap Match as the heels worked over Toni Storm.

Shida wasn't gone for very long, however, and she came back to the ring with two kendo sticks which she used to unleash pain on Hayter and Baker.

After more action, Hayter connected with a Tombstone Piledriver to Toni Storm which was broken up by a Meteora from Shida. Britt Baker then decked her former rival with a Stomp and Shida just managed to get her shoulder up. Baker went for the Lockjaw but she was knocked out of the ring by Toni Storm, leaving Hayter and Shida alone.

Hayter decked Shida with a Ripcord Lariat and she had the match won but Britt Baker pulled referee Paul Turner out of the ring! Storm then decked Hayter with a Spike Piledriver and Baker threw Toni out of the ring to cover her friend. It backfired, though, as Hayter kicked out!

Moments later, Storm hit a Tornado DDT to Baker before another Tornado DDT to Hayter. Storm then covered Hayter and it was enough for the win as she was crowned the Interim AEW Women's World Champion.

Christian Cage def. Jungle Boy

One of the most personal feuds in AEW's short history was next as Jungle Boy went one-on-one with Christian Cage. Before the match got underway, though, Perry's mother slapped Christian. Cage seemed unconcerned, however, and all was revealed after Jungle Boy made his entrance.

Jungle Boy looked to the babyface tunnel but he was suddenly blindsided from behind by Luchasaurus, who entered from the heel side, and chokeslammed his former tag team partner on the steel part of the ramp. Luchasaurus then carried Jungle Boy and put him through the ringside table as the fans in Chicago serenaded Christian with asshole chants.

Referee Aubrey Edwards told Jungle Boy she could call the match off but his pride wouldn't allow him to do so. This was ultimately futile for Jungle Boy as Christian Cage connected with a Spear and Killswitch for the win.

Following the match, it was announced that Best Friends and Orange Cassidy would face Death Triangle on Wednesday's episode of Dynamite.

Chris Jericho def. Bryan Danielson

A dream match took place at All Out next as Chris Jericho went one-on-one with Bryan Danielson as Daniel Garcia watched on from the back.

The early going was filled with mat wrestling which only changed after Bryan Danielson gyrated on top of Jericho. This made Jericho angry and allowed him to take control of the contest for the next few minutes. Danielson then fought back with Yes Kicks but he was later caught in a Hurricanrana attempt that the former AEW World Champion reversed into the Walls of Jericho. Jericho later hit a Tombstone Piledriver and a Lionsault but Danielson kicked out and proceeded to kick Jericho's head in.

Next, Danielson was locked in the Lebell Lock but Jericho soon escaped and was locked in the Walls of Jericho, which was reversed into a Triangle Choke. Jericho later hit a Codebreaker for a near fall before he applied the Walls of Jericho once again.

Chris Jericho became frustrated, demanding Danielson stay down. This allowed Danielson to fire back with the Busaiku Knee and Jericho kicked out, only for Danielson to lock in Cattle Mutilation. Jericho escaped but he received Hammer and Anvil Elbows for his trouble before Cattle Mutilation was locked in again.

After more action, Jericho caught Danielson with a Low Blow which Aubrey Edwards didn't see due to being backed into the corner. Jericho then connected with the Judas Effect for the huge win.

Sting, Darby Allin, & Miro def. House of Black

One of All Elite Wrestling's oddest trios joined forces next as Miro stood alongside Sting and Darby Allin, having been bound together by their mutual hatred of the House of Black.

The House of Black were in control during the early going as Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews methodically worked over Darby Allin. The former TNT Champion eventually managed to make the hot tag to Sting and after Sting beat down Buddy Matthews, he faced off with Malakai Black, an exchange which Sting won by applying the Scorpion Deathlock. Brody King and Buddy Matthews repeatedly failed to slow down Sting until Malakai managed to counter into a Kneebar. Black was also busted open above his eye, seemingly from a shot from Sting.

House of Black later went for Dante's Inferno but Sting escaped and decked Brody King with the Scorpion Death Drop before a Coffin Drop from Darby almost got the job done. Buddy Matthews broke up the pin, however, and he halted a flurry from Miro with a baseball bat shot moments later.

Allin fired back at Matthews with a Tope Suicida and back in the ring, Sting misted Malakai Black while he was going for Black Mass, turning the tables before Allin locked in the Last Supper pin for the 1-2-3.

In the fallout from Chris Jericho vs. Bryan Danielson, Jericho told Daniel Garcia backstage that the Jericho Appreciation Society would not back up Garcia for his ROH Pure Title match against Wheeler Yuta on Wednesday's episode of Dynamite as he did not celebrate Jericho's win with the rest of the JAS.

CM Punk def. Jon Moxley (c) – AEW World Championship

Only two weeks on from his losing the AEW World Title Unification Match in three minutes, CM Punk challenged Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship in the main event of All Out. Punk lost that match because his left leg gave out and he put his left leg forward to open the last match of the pay-per-view which only left Moxley bemused as he sat down and gave Punk the middle finger.

Punk then went after Moxley, decking him with a Roundhouse Kick and two Jumping Knees in the corner before he landed the GTS. Moxley managed to kick out at almost the 3 count.

Moxley tried to put some distance between himself and the challenger but Punk continued his assault with a Suicide Dive before both men brawled around the Now Arena. Moxley managed to fight his way back into the match, leaving CM Punk a bloody mess before he licked his opponent's blood off his hand.

Moxley methodically beat down Punk for the next few minutes, Moxley even blocking a Running Bulldog attempt from Punk before the AEW World Champion locked in a Single Leg Boston Crab and an STF. Punk fought back by scratching Moxley's eyes but Moxley regained control by targeting Punk's leg, following up his submissions with a Figure Four Leglock. Punk flipped off the AEW World Champion so Moxley hit a Piledriver for a near fall.

Punk fired back by targeting Moxley's left arm and he decided to kick his head in before locking in the Anaconda Vice. It was then Moxley's turn to kick Punk's head in and Punk soon went for the Flying Elbow which Moxley countered into a Choke. Punk escaped and locked in the Cross Armbreaker which Moxley rolled through into his Bulldog Choke finisher. Punk escaped but Moxley simply applied an Ankle Lock.

Punk made it to the rope and followed up with a Roundhouse Kick, leaving both men down. Once they got back to their feet, both competitors exchanged finisher counters before a flurry of punches. Punk went for a second GTS that Moxley blocked before he followed up with a Death Rider, but Punk kicked out! Moxley went straight to the Hammer and Anvil Elbows before going back to the Bulldog Choke. Punk rolled through and he managed to hit a second GTS the AEW World Champion simply fell on top of Punk, who had fallen to his knees.

An exhausted Punk then managed to lift Moxley and he connected with a third GTS to win the AEW World Championship in his hometown!

As Punk celebrated, though, the lights inside the arena suddenly went out. The voice of Tony Khan played making a final offer to the person on the other end of the phone, stating he would pay him 'x amount' if he was the Joker in the Casino Ladder Match at All Out. The masked Joker from earlier in the night then appeared and removed their mask, revealing himself as MJF, who declared he was the devil himself.

MJF then made his way onto the stage and cut his music while CM Punk held up his AEW World Title as the crowd in Chicago chanted for MJF. Friedman then announced he would be going after the AEW World Title.
